This role is part of the Business Operations team which drives the day-to-day operation of the Product & Technology organization, including project and portfolio management, resource allocation, process management, technical incident management, and workplace experience support.
Responsibilities
- Design prototypes and tools supporting Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology
- Research and recommend best architectural approaches to solve unique problems facing Disney's businesses
- Identify elegant solutions to complex and unique problems
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in technical fields
- Hands-on experience with machine learning methods and techniques
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade software
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools responsibly
- Experience with effective API integration and design
- Demonstrated ownership of the software development lifecycle
- Experience with defensive application design and cybersecurity best practices
- Excellent technical communication skills and attention to detail
- Curiosity and desire to learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with audio/video processing and analysis
- Experience with real-time updates and event-driven architectures
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Kinesis, Dynamo, Elasti Cache, Lambda, S3, ECS, Aurora, Bedrock
- Experience with modern JavaScript/Type Script development for back-end RESTful APIs and front-end web applications
- Experience with native mobile development for iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Cloud Formation
- Experience with monitoring tools like Cloud Watch and Datadog
- Workflow implementation focused on real-time updates and event-driven architectures
The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $148,700 to $199,400 per year and in Los Angeles, CA and Bristol, CT is $141,900 to $190,300 per year. Base pay will consider internal equity and candidate factors. Bonuses or long-term incentive units may be included along with medical, financial, and other benefits.
