TEMPORARY Seasonal Position - Rifle Gap State Park Complex
The Colorado Department of Natural Resources invites applicants for several seasonal positions at Rifle Gap State Park Complex. These temporary roles last up to 9 months with hourly pay of $17.00. Positions are open for immediate start through November 1, 2026, and will involve customer service and support for park visitors.
The mission of the department is to develop, preserve, and enhance Colorado’s natural resources. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
Aqua Nuisance Species Inspector- Staff the park ANS inspection station.
- Conduct physical boat inspections and boater interviews.
- Provide information and assistance to the boating public (distribute brochures, promote ANS education, etc.).
- Perform cleaning and light maintenance of ANS inspection areas, facilities, and grounds.
- Count and record all boat inspections accurately using written or phone application software.
- Document and report visitor complaints.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on state-owned vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure quality customer service and facility maintenance, repair, and cleanliness.
- Provide information and assistance to visitors.
- Assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work and transporting materials and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Staff the park entrance station and/or visitor center.
- Provide information and assistance to visitors (distribute maps/brochures, orient, promote education programs, etc.).
- Sell park passes, permits, books, maps, merchandise.
- Operate cash register and handle telephone calls.
- Photocopy and file documents and handle revenue collection, shift reports, and balances.
- Assist with special events or programs.
- Perform cleaning and light maintenance of interior and exterior of gates, visitor center, and offices.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have a valid driver’s license if required to operate a state vehicle.
- Any worker who will operate a state-owned vehicle must maintain a safe driving record and a valid driver license.
- Motor vehicle records will be reviewed for such workers.
