VMware Systems Engineer

Overview

As part of an enterprise infrastructure and operations team, you will provide expert-level support for VMware environments supporting mission-critical systems. You’ll work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure performance, reliability, and security across integration and test environments.

• Provide hands-on VMware infrastructure support, optimization, and troubleshooting
• Support operations, integration, and test (I&T) activities
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and configuration management
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve technical issues
• Develop and maintain clear technical documentation
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
• Ensure compliance with security and operational standards

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience
• OR Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience
• OR 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Strong experience supporting VMware infrastructure in production environments
• Experience working with Windows and Linux systems
• Experience supporting integration, test, or mission-critical environments
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work onsite and obtain/maintain a Secret clearance

• VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP)
• Experience with cloud or hybrid infrastructure
• Background supporting government or defense programs
• Automation or scripting experience (Power Shell, Python)
• Familiarity with ITIL or similar frameworks
