Overview
Job Summary
The Director of Maintenance Control has overall responsibility for the operation of Maintenance Control and Maintenance Training in performance of their jobs in the tracking, safe release of all AMC aircraft from maintenance. Provides communication and coordination with Flight Operations (OCC), Base and Hangar maintenance, Regional Maintenance Leadership, Quality Control, Engineering, Training and Purchasing to ensure continued safety. Ensures technical assistance and guidance is provided to the Field Base (including Contract Maintenance), Heavy Maintenance personnel and detail maintenance to ensure timely maintenance and return to service in support of the operation.
Primary responsibility for position is to ensure Operational Support is present and obtainable to maintenance teammates through the MCAS Desk and Maintenance Support Representatives. Also, will have the training department assigned to this position and work with the Manager of training to bring benefits of training to the field that will help in making a more cohesive team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
- Directs the Daily activities of the MCAS, Tech Support, and Training ensuring continual safe aircraft for operations. This includes briefing of daily fleet-wide mechanical status to the Director of Maintenance and Senior Management.
- Reviews Supply Chain related items and provides guidance and directs teammates to most expedient and cost-effective solution regarding OOS and logistics costs.
- Will be the acting Director of Maintenance when the DOM is unavailable. Working with the FAA, Director of Operations and Chief Pilot on regulatory compliance. Provide technical assistance and guidance to base maintenance personnel and detail required maintenance actions to repair aircraft discrepancies.
- Manage the MCAS training program and ensure Controller competencies are at the highest level, monitor teammate capabilities and coach and train as required to ensure Support to frontline staff is of the highest quality.
- Coordinate between Aircraft Records, Planning, Engineering, and all other Maintenance groups to ensure maintenance programs are maintained in accordance with the polices of the FAA, AMC, and the aircraft manufacturer.
- Assist in analyzing and determining disposition of all reliability issues and improvements as received through the MCAS team.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Control department and Training department. Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Direct and run the Maintenance Department.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university and ten (10) or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of aircraft compliance and regulations.
- Strong knowledge in aviation process and regulations regarding Maintenance Control Operations.
