A leading national construction firm is seeking an experienced Regional Safety Manager to support operations across Denver, CO. This role is critical to driving a best-in-class safety culture across complex construction projects, with a strong focus on risk mitigation, leadership engagement, and continuous improvement.
The RoleThe Regional Safety Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and consistent application of company safety standards across assigned business units and projects. This individual provides leadership and oversight to Safety Managers, Safety Engineers, and Project Safety Managers, with the ultimate goal of eliminating injuries, preventing incidents, and managing operational risk. The position works closely with executive and operational leaders to embed safety into every phase of project execution.
Responsibilities- Provide input and support to regional and segment safety committees, accountability groups, and leadership meetings
- Maintain current knowledge of all applicable safety regulations, standards, and best practices
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for safety, risk management, security, and fire protection
- Prepare and present high-quality safety performance reports to senior leadership
- Support crisis management and emergency response activities
- Participate in high-hazard preconstruction planning meetings as required
- Assist with project safety planning and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) development
- Exercise authority to shut down operations in the event of imminent danger to life or health
- Monitor and manage regional safety department budgets
- Develop and deliver comprehensive employee safety training programs, including construction safety, emergency preparedness, fire protection, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, and injury prevention
- Maintain OSHA 500 certification and deliver training as required
- Support auditing, enforcement, training compliance, and claims management
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, construction, engineering, or a related field. Safety certifications strongly preferred, including OSHA 500/510, CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or CIH.
Experience- 10+ years of experience in construction safety or a related safety leadership role
- Proven experience managing safety programs, processes, or teams within complex construction environments
- Must have General Contractor experience
- Strong independent judgment and decision-making ability
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-project coordination skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to present to large audiences and senior leadership
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Access a plus)
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy in reporting
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
