Target Security Specialist

Starting Hourly Rate / Salario por Hora Inicial: $21.75 USD per hour.

The Assets Protection (AP) team at Target protects guests, team members, and the brand by preventing and resolving theft, fraud, and shortages. The role of a Target Security Specialist involves intelligence‑led tactics, crisis response, and maintaining a safe, secure environment throughout the store.

• Use intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure.
• Provide crisis response, safety, and crowd management support to guests and team members.
• Apply de‑scalation techniques and operate physical security controls and culture.
• Operate Target’s video surveillance system and document cases accurately using the case management system.
• Respond to, document, and follow up on security incidents in a timely manner.
• Leverage de‑scalation tactics and resources during incidents across the store.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and support theft apprehension per AP policy.
• Prevent theft and shortage by performing merchandise receipt checks and reporting trends.
• Promote a physical security culture for team members and guests, assessing and maintaining safe standards throughout the store, including exterior property.
• Support team and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
• Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy, inspiring guest experience.
• All other duties based on business needs.

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Remain focused and composed in fast‑paced environments, accomplishing multiple tasks within established time frames.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, lift up to 40 pounds, and work in various temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
• Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
• Capable of remaining mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift, which may vary in length.

Work in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing duties such as Drive‑Up and carryout. Must remain mobile for the entire shift.
