Where You Will WorkOur Henderson mine and mill are an hour drive apart – separated by the Continental Divide and a 15-mile conveyor system (10 miles underground). The Henderson mine is an underground molybdenum mining operation located approximately 42 miles west of Denver and 10 miles west of Empire. It has been in operation since 1976 and today consists of a large block‑cave, underground mining complex feeding a concentrator with a current capacity of approximately 32,000 metric tons per day.
It can produce approximately 15 million pounds of molybdenum per year. The Henderson mill is located 15 miles west of the mine, between Dillon and Kremmling. Both sites are surrounded by US Forest Service land of the Arapaho National Forest, making it easy for our employees and their families to enjoy year‑round hiking, cross‑country skiing, and snowshoeing in the area.
Work is in an underground mine plant setting at an elevation of 10,800' above sea level, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles. Under general supervision, the incumbent safely performs duties related to the production and material transport for an underground mining facility.
- Transports materials such as steel, lumber, water, equipment, blasting supplies to ensure the safe operation of the underground mining operations.
- Operates mobile equipment such as mine tractors, forklifts, water trucks, front‑end loaders, fan handling trucks, pipe handling truck, and maintenance carrier service truck.
- Performs the safe and proper loading and unloading of materials via the shaft conveyance hoist materials cage.
- Performs regular work area audits and reports any issues for receiving materials from the warehouse and delivering to appropriate locations within the underground mining facility.
- Performs surface operations such as unloading trucks, unloading materials bins, arranging truck deliveries.
- Trains and mentors other employees.
- Acts as fill‑in supervisor as needed.
- Performs housekeeping duties.
- Assists in the installation of mine compressed air, water, and ventilation systems.
- Responsible for receiving blasting materials on surface operations.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least two (2) years in trade.
- have completed academic and practical competencies required (including Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude.
- Demonstrates the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
- CDL certification.
- Six (6) months of experience with telehandlers and/or front‑end loaders.
- Six (6) months of experience with heavy mobile equipment.
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $27.50 - $37.50/hour
. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job‑related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
