Essential Functions

• Supervise andensurethesafetyandwell-beingofthechildrenatalltimes, beingalertfortheneedsof the children as individuals and as a group
• Functionastheprimarycaregiverforagroupofchildren
• Assistteacherinanywaypossiblewhichmayinclude,butisnotlimitedto the following:
• Planandimplementcurriculum
• Implementthedailyprogram
• Decoratetheroomand/orbulletinboards
• Servemealsandsnacks
• Keepclassroomandstorageareasneatandorderly
• Where applicable,assistchildrenwithtoiletneeds
• Launderclassroommaterialsandwash/disinfect toys
• Assistinallpersonalcareaspectsofthechildren
• Followdirectionsofteachersregardingstaffingneedsoftheprogram
• Attendandparticipateinteammeetings,staff meetings,and staffing asrequestedtooffer suggestions, observations, and ideas regarding program or individual child needs
• Attendscheduledon-sitein-servicesandcompleteannualcontinuingeducation
• Temporarilyassumeresponsibilitiesoftheteacherintheabsenceoftheteacher
• Befamiliarwithandfollowallcenterpolicies,procedures,stateregulationsandaccreditationstandards
• Reporttoteacheranycasesofsuspectedchildabuseandneglect
• Attendandassistwithfieldtrips
• Assistteacherinsupervisinganddirectingsubsandvolunteers

• Wisconsin state certified classes in Early Childhood I and Early Childhood II, prefer a CDA or Associates degree in Early Childhood.
