Engineer II- Special Projects

The Engineer II – Special Projects is responsible for engineering and coordinating large-scale fiber infrastructure projects supporting hyperscale and enterprise customers. These projects span multiple jurisdictions and require advanced planning, cross-functional coordination, and strict adherence to timelines. This role serves as a key driver of project success by ensuring engineering readiness, managing dependencies, and proactively mitigating risks that could impact delivery schedules for high-value customers.

• Lead engineering efforts for aerial, underground, and inside plant (ISP) fiber builds
• Support execution of hyperscale and enterprise fiber builds with aggressive timelines
• Coordinate multi-phase, multi-jurisdiction fiber builds
• Develop permitting strategies across multiple municipalities
• Manage ROW, easements, and agency coordination
• Coordinate multiple contractors across geographic segments
• Serve as technical interface for hyperscale customers
• Participate in milestone reviews and escalation calls
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3–6+ years fiber engineering or telecom experience
• Knowledge of OSP/ISP design and permitting
• Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, FCC standards
• Experience with CAD/GIS tools
• Well versed in fiber optics and dark fiber applications
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
• Experience with hyperscale and large enterprise builds preferred
