The Senior Accountant is a core member of the Accounting team. The role owns the AP and AR processes and supervises the AP/AR Specialist to ensure vendor invoices are timely, accurately, and efficiently paid and customer collections are kept up to date. In addition, this role drives the month-end close process to ensure entries and reconciliations are timely prepared and reviewed.
This role reports to the Director of Finance.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Supervise AP/AR Specialist to ensure business needs are met
- Drive the month-end close process to ensure journal entries and reconciliations are prepared and variances are reviewed and understood
- Prepares month-end financial reports to assist management in understanding business results and driving effective decisions
- Provides financial analysis and guidance to support revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, partnering with operations personnel, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
- Supports and prepares submissions for external audits and regulatory agencies as needed, facilitating overall successful and efficient completion of reviews and audits.
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or related field
- CPA preferred
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:
- 4+ years of experience performing similar duties; preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience managing accounting staff preferred
- Not afraid of diving deep into the details and solving problems
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Experience with Excel required;
Epicor preferred
