Science Instructor

POSITION

Full-time, tenure-track faculty position.

Dawson Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time, tenure-tracked faculty position within its Chemistry Transfer Department. The role involves collaboration within the Science Transfer Department to develop and improve the program, recruit students, support dual enrollment, and facilitate articulation. Preference is given to candidates who can also teach in Biology/Allied Health. The position requires the ability to teach both chemistry and general science.

• Master's Degree or higher in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, or another natural science related field, with a minimum of nine (9) graduate-level credits in a singular discipline. All coursework must be from an accredited college or university.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with local high schools, industry, and community organizations.
• Ability to work independently while communicating with internal and external partners.

• Teaching experience at the secondary or postsecondary level.
• Online teaching experience using Canvas or another learning management system.
• Nine (9) graduate-level credits in an additional, related discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Environmental Science, or Allied Health Fields.
• Ph.D.
