Position Overview
The Director of Support Services will provide management and overall support for Environmental Services, Food Service, Laundry, and Facilities Management. The Director ensures that proper procedures and regulatory compliance is maintained within the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:- Plans and coordinates the work of staff.
- Oversees staff and ensure that they meet goals and objectives.
- Recruits additional staff as needed.
- Ensure staff maintain required certification/licensure.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Provides training and mentoring as needed.
- Oversee and assist supervisors in Environmental Services, Food Service, Laundry, and Facilities Management.
- Consults with Senior Leadership and help create long-range operating goals specific to the needs of the organization.
- Develop new products from concept to testing to production.
- Maintains financial accountability of support services departments.
- Oversees progress and timeliness of construction projects.
- Reviews project reports to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
- Reviews maintenance records for all engineering equipment and GMC vehicles.
- Oversee all building and plant preventive maintenance records.
- Develops and implements departmental budget. Assist supervisors with budgets within their respective departments.
- Participate in all State and Federal surveys.
- Perform additional duties as assigned while demonstrating GMC s Standards of Excellence
Required:
- Bachelor s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of ten (10) years of operations/engineering experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of management experience
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive technical knowledge of engineering and product development.
- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC
- Excellent financial skills and ability to analyze financial data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
