Job Title
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Educational Services, commits to honoring the Mission and Vision of the San Gabriel Valley ROP, as well as supervise and evaluate instructional staff. Serve as liaison between ROP and schools to promote and support ESGVROP instructional programs. This is a confidential management position.
Examples Of Duties1. Commits to honoring the Mission and Vision of the San Gabriel Valley ROP
2. Keep Executive Director of Educational Services and Superintendent informed of all matters material to the SGVROP
3. Serve as a fully engaged and participating member of the Superintendent's Extended Cabinet, and serve on other committees or ad hoc group(s) as directed by the Executive Director of Educational Services and/or the Superintendent.
4. Support, supervise, coach, and evaluate instructional staff in support of the organization's mission and objectives to ensure quality career training programs and positive student outcomes leading towards post-secondary education, industry certifications and job placement.
5. Recommend and provide professional development training and instructional resources to improve instructor performance and instructional quality for all students.
6. Monitor, evaluate, and provide technical training to maintain instructional program compliance, in accordance with applicable laws, including, but not limited to, community classroom and CVE instructional methodologies.
7. Assist and train instructional staff in timely and accurate recordkeeping which include the following: class attendance, timesheets, student records, discipline, incident reports, community classroom, and CVE.
8. Monitor absences and substitute coverage to ensure quality instructional programs.
9. Maintain communications with business office staff, in regards to instructional resources and supplies.
10. Assist with monitoring and improvement of instructional budgets and requests for instructional supplies.
11. Maintain open communication and build positive relationships with ROP counselors.
12. Plan, organize, and lead counselor meetings.
13. Assimilate and evaluate data, in order to prepare clear comprehensive reports and make sound recommendations, based upon the data.
14. Evaluate effectiveness of instructional programs and recommend changes as needed.
15. Research and recommend instructional programs that incorporate work-based learning opportunities leading towards industry certifications.
16. Maintain regular communication with school and district administrators in the planning and development of new classes leading towards industry certifications and supervision of existing ones.
17. Troubleshoot and resolve problems and issues related to classes.
18. Recommend student recruitment activities for classes.
19. Work closely with the Executive Director of Educational Services and district and site administrators, regarding classroom facilities and assignments.
20. Provide leadership and recommendations for existing and new instructional programs leading towards industry certification in response to the changing demands of the workplace and current labor market demands.
21. Obtain and monitor student data to evaluate effectiveness of instructional programs and facilitate the implementation of instructional program changes leading towards industry certifications and job placement of students.
22. Oversee, maintain, and ensure compliance of all certified programs according to applicable regulations and guidelines, including required reports, records, and instructional activities.
23. Collaborate with leadership and school administrators regarding the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of quality instructional programs.
24. Assist with classroom facility planning, assignments, equipment acquisition, contracts, and procurement of instructional resources.
25. Compile information, as needed, and prepare a variety of reports related to instructional programs and activities.
26. Assist with research, and development of CTE courses that incorporate work-based learning in alignment with CTE pathways leading towards post-secondary education credit and industry-recognized credentials.
27. Attend department and organizational meetings as required.
28. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications1. Possession of a valid State Credential authorizing the supervision and coordination of instructional programs and a valid CTE teaching credential. 2. A Bachelor's Degree.
3. Experience with teacher supervision and evaluation.
4. Knowledge of Federal, State, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.
5. Highly desirable:
Master's Degree;
Experience at the High School Level;
Experience and/or knowledge of Secondary Articulation with Post-Secondary;
Experience in curriculum development. 6. Any combination of training and experience which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities.
