Assistant Director (4 Points)

Assists with casting the show.

Assists director with strategic planning: casting, blocking, and scheduling rehearsals.

Communicates clearly with parents the schedule and expectations of the cast in regard to behavior, rehearsal attendance, and commitment to the show.

Communicates clearly with parents the items students are responsible to provide for themselves (this could include a personal makeup kit, base layers, and jazz shoes).

"Calling the show" during the performances.

Directs technical cues for sound, lighting, and mics on headset.

Communicates with stage manager backstage to assist with the show running smoothly (curtain calls, preparing cast to find their places).

Troubleshoots any problems that arise.

Team management: checking in on the work of each member of the team.

Keeps notes of all blocking and technical cues in order to assist with running rehearsals when director is not available.
