The Senior Accounting Analyst will support the business objectives based on the Controller organization’s scope of responsibility. The major areas of responsibility include financial accounting and reporting, month‑end close processes, general ledger account analyses, reconciliation review, preparation and posting of journal entries, research, analyses and reporting, internal reporting requests related to Division, Regional branches and Corporate, and fulfilling internal/external audit and other ad‑hoc analyses and special projects.
Responsibilities- Perform month‑end procedures, including the preparation and posting of journal entries (General Accounting / Accruals, Inventory / Stock (Mass Balance) Product Costing).
- Ensure accurate financial and statistical close processes in conjunction with ALABS, including general ledger account reconciliations and other analyses within established timelines.
- Handle significant sales accruals, COS & OPEX accruals, and localized accounting topics such as real estate taxes and personal property taxes.
- Enter ad‑hoc entries arising from the month‑end close review process.
- Perform product costing processes: calculate, maintain, and update standard gas and hard‑goods costs; prepare daily Moving Average Price (MAP) analysis; conduct cost of sales account analysis; and prepare reports for internal requests from Division/branches and Corporate.
- Participate in ongoing enhancements to accounting and reporting processes, leveraging systems and reporting tools to drive improvements.
- Support and provide direction and training to the accounting staff teams.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s financial policies/procedures and other compliance matters.
- Build effective relationships with all levels of associates within the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Minimum of three years of financial reporting / financial accounting experience, including public accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP and general accounting matters.
- Client service mindset and ability to work well with internal customers and external parties.
- Proven organizational, team‑building and people skills.
- Ability to navigate within a complex matrixed organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and support divisional, local and corporate management demands.
- Experience integrating new technologies into day‑to‑day operations.
- Vision, creativity and a quality mindset.
- CPA and/or MBA in Finance/Accounting.
- Exposure to medium‑to‑large companies.
- Advanced experience with SAP software.
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Access).
