Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Description

Robert Half is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in the Glens Falls area seeking a hands-on Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations. This on-site role will oversee day-to-day accounting while providing strategic financial insight to support plant and company leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Manage full-cycle accounting, including month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger oversight

+ Lead cost accounting and inventory management, including standard costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting

+ Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts

+ Partner with operations leadership to drive cost control, efficiency improvements, and financial performance

+ Oversee A/P, A/R, and day to day accounting functions; supervise and develop accounting staff

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls; coordinate audits and tax filings

Salary Range: $120,000 - $135,000 + additional bonus potential

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA/CMA preferred.

- At least 7 years of accounting experience, including substantial exposure to manufacturing environments.

- Demonstrated background in cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial analysis.

- Prior leadership experience with the ability to manage responsibilities directly while supervising staff.

- Strong proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities.

- Solid understanding of month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation.

- Knowledge of internal controls, variance analysis, and cash management practices.
