Machine Operator - 3rd shift; PMM Machine

Position: Machine Operator 2 - 3rd shift (New PMM Machine)

Job Description Operates complex equipment while achieving quality standards, a production plan, and cost objectives. Makes minor adjustments and performs troubleshooting logic to maintain part specifications. Ensures device meet product specifications. This position assists in the periodic maintenance of machinery and performs minor repairs as required. CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the operations of machinery and associated equipment to detect and report malfunctions. Prepare product for transfer and/or final processing. Inspect product output for quality and accuracy. Perform machine clean-up, set-up, and minor machine maintenance such as cleaning debris from machine, performing product and instrument checks, and complete equipment repairs and part replacement. Adjust machine parameters and controls within specifications.

Review material availability with necessary teams and assist in securing material to support and meet production schedule. Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in the assigned area. Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork and reports with required signoffs. Respond to machinery breakdowns and/or material upsets and restore machine to working condition minimizing downtime.

Troubleshoot issues that arise on assigned shift. Work with other teams and/or management as necessary to resolve issues in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Perform accurate data entry transactions within MRP system along with accurately recording information on the Discrete job to ensure material traceability/accountability. Reads and interprets a variety of work schedules, Kanban, Discrete job, bill of materials, pick lists, drawings and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures). Operation of various equipment while achieving quality standards, a production plan and cost objectives. Perform machine changeovers.

Perform minor adjustments and perform troubleshooting logic to maintain part specifications and conducts all operations within guidelines of the SOP's and operational codes. Assist in the PM of assigned machinery. Independently start up and operate equipment as per applicable procedures. Recognize technical problems that require assistance from machine shop/engineering and request support as needed. Provide feedback on processes and machine performance to engineering and manufacturing management.

Provide training to other machine operators as requested. Continually review procedures for clarity, completeness and correctness. Demonstrate the ability to reference and talk through manufacturing procedures. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Set up work station with necessary equipment and supplies as per job assignment. Coordinate with Production Supervisors/Coordinators to meet production requirements. Operates bar coding and other computerized equipment.
