Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)

Contract | Days | Onsite

• Provide comprehensive surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care before, during, and after surgery
• Perform patient assessments and maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment throughout all procedures
• Deliver pre- and post-operative patient education and monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being
• Primarily serve in a circulating role across a broad range of surgical specialties including vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotics, urology, and ENT
• Provide coverage across multiple operating rooms, including Labor and Delivery for C-sections
• Integrate and coordinate patient care throughout the full surgical care continuum for a pediatric through adult patient population

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of current Operating Room experience
• Float experience in vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotics, urology, and ENT
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Demonstrated experience both scrubbing and circulating
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have personal vehicle; own transportation is a firm requirement
• Must have completed approved verbal de-escalation training (Welle, CPI, or PMCS) prior to onboarding

• Strong scrub skills in addition to circulating experience
• Experience across a wide range of surgical specialties within a high-volume OR environment (approximately 50 procedures per day)

• Work in a well-established community hospital operating 14 OR rooms with a broad surgical scope covering all major specialties except cardiac and ophthalmology
• Located in a vibrant city along the Hudson River offering museums, local entertainment, dining, seasonal festivals, and easy access to outdoor activities — an excellent destination for a spring or summer travel assignment
