Infusion Nurse

COVID vaccinations encouraged, but not required. EPIC experience required. Please note experience on submission to prevent delays! Glens Falls Hospital's Outpatient Infusion Center is dedicated to providing patient care excellence. We offer a comfortable and convenient outpatient setting for those who require frequent infusions of medications. Infusion services are provided by a staff of registered nurses who specialize in intravenous therapy.

Treatments available:

• Intravenous (IV) antibiotics
• IV antifungal
• IV steroids for inflammatory conditions (Solumedrol)
• Blood and blood product transfusions
• Maintenance of Central Venous access devices
• Placement of Peripherally Inserted Central Venous Catheters (PICC lines)
• IV Immune Globulin therapy (IVIG)
• Hydration therapy
• IV/IM vitamins
• Care and maintenance of intrathecal or implanted infusion pumps
• Iron infusions (Venofer and Injectafer)
• Teaching for self-administration of medications (Humira, Lovenox, treatment for Hepatitis
  
  C)
• Therapeutic Phlebotomies
• Specialty medications:
• Remicade, Renflexis, Inflectra or Orencia for Crohns, Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Psoriatic Arthritis
• Simponi for RA, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, or Ulcerative Colitis (UC)
• Simponi Aria for RA, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis
• Actemra and Rituxan for Rheumatoid Arthritis
• Stelara for Crohn's Disease, Plaque Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis
• Tysabri, Ocrevus or Lemtrada for Multiple Sclerosis
• Boniva, Reclast, or Prolia for bone loss
• Epogen, Procrit or Aranesp for anemia due to chronic kidney disease
• Xolair, Nucala and Fasenra for allergic asthma
• Entyvio for Ulcerative Colitis or Crohns
• Radicava for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

OT and Holiday Multipliers: x1.25 Dress Code:
Personal scrubs of any color
- No designs or cartoons. No hoodies.

Non-Billable Orientation: 8 HRs Call: NA for this need

Cancellation policy:
Facility can cancel up to 5 shifts per 13 week contract, must give 2 hr notice

• 2+ years current experience in outpatient oncology and infusion - [REQUIRED]
• Chemo Cert (ONS) and Oncology Certified RN (OCN) - [REQUIRED]
• Peripheral IV Insertion experience - [Required]
• Port/Fistula/Catheter experience- [Required]
• IV Certification - [Highly preferred]
• EPIC Experience - [Required]
• Previous traveler -[preferred]
• BSN- [preferred]

Profile requirements:

• Work history
• Skills checklist (pertinent to position), current to 1 year
• 1 supervisory signed reference (from within the past two years of employment)
• License/certifications
  - Must be uploaded with profile (Current Nursys, BLS, ONC Cert, CHEMO CERT, ACLS, PERM ADDRESS and de-escalation training proofs
  - Facility will not pend license/certs)
