As the Nurse Manager, you will provide overall clinical and operational management during hours of operation. How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Manages the clinical and environmental operations of the unit or service line
- Develops, implements, and evaluates systems to support quality and safe patient care
- Develops staff schedules and peak census plans and communicates those to the staffing office
- Review patient surveys and feedback and creates action plans to address patient satisfaction issues
- Makes staffing decisions and adjustments on a shift-by-shift basis in collaboration with the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor, and Nursing Director as needed
- Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the annual budget
- Develops and implements action plans in response to variances
- Oversees the pay practices of staff and the systems that support payroll and benefits
- Demonstrates principles of evidence-based leadership
- Manages all aspects of the staff to include hiring, supervising, counseling, professional development, discipline, and competency/performance evaluation, including clinical evaluations of nursing staff with matrix relationships
- Coordinates the orientation process of new staff in collaboration with the educator/CNS
- Develops staff and facilitates learning opportunities that meet staff and unit/service line needs
- Serve as a clinical resource and acts as a role model and mentor
- Develops the agenda and conduct monthly staff meetings
- Oversees the work of the unit-based council and acts as council advisor
- Ensures clinical staff are part of the Nursing Shared Leadership council structure
