Salary is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.

We are seeking a strategic, forward-thinking, and motivated Registered Nurse with perioperative experience to join as our next Nurse Manager of the Operating Room. In this role, you will lead within a dynamic surgical environment, driving operational excellence, supporting surgical teams, and advancing quality and patient safety initiatives across Surgical Services.

Team Impact
As the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room, you will lead a 24/7 Surgical Services department with 16 operating suites supporting a wide range of procedures across all patient populations. You'll oversee a collaborative team of RNs, LPNs, Surgical Technologists, and PCAs in a fast-paced environment that balances scheduled and emergent cases while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications/Experience
Education/Accredited Programs
- Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing program required
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required
- Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred
- 3 years OR RN experience required (5 Years preferred)
- 1 year of progressive leadership experience required (ex: Assistant Nurse Manager/ Nurse Manager, Charge RN, Service Line Coordinator)
- High emotional intelligence required
- Basic understanding of principles of performance improvement and use of data to improve outcomes
- Working knowledge of regulatory and DNV requirements
- Ability to provide feedback and have crucial conversations
- Ability to organize work, delegate effectively, and to assign, direct and evaluate the work of other employees
- Certification in relevant clinical area highly preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with nurses and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, E-mail, unit/service line/department specific applications
- Current Registered Nursing license in the state of New York required
- Certification in nursing leadership preferred; required within 2 years of eligibility
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certifications if required for service
Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Manages the clinical and environmental operations of the unit or service line
- Develops, implements, and evaluates systems to support quality and safe patient care
- Develops staff schedules and peak census plans and communicates those to the staffing office
- Review patient surveys and feedback and creates action plans to address patient satisfaction issues
- Makes staffing decisions and adjustments on a shift-by-shift basis in collaboration with the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor, and Nursing Director as needed
- Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the annual budget
- Develops and implements action plans in response to variances
- Oversees the pay practices of staff and the systems that support payroll and benefits
- Demonstrates principles of evidence-based leadership
- Manages all aspects of the staff to include hiring, supervising, counseling, professional development, discipline, and competency/performance evaluation, including clinical evaluations of nursing staff with matrix relationships
- Coordinates the orientation process of new staff in collaboration with the educator/CNS
