The Audit Associate is primarily responsible for providing audit and review services for privately held businesses, employee benefit plans and exempt organizations. As an Audit Associate you will work closely with clients to understand their business and collaborate with Weiss & Company LLP Seniors, Managers and Partners.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform audit and review services in all stages of the engagements across many industries
- Conduct financial reporting for closely held businesses
- Provide assurance services for employee benefit plans and not for profit entities
- Provide consulting service related to internal control procedures and risk assessment
- Provide corporate, partnership and individual tax planning and preparation
- Meets internal deadlines to match the client expectations for timely delivery of service
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
- CPA license or eligibility to sit for CPA exam
- 0-2 years of Public Accounting experience
- Knowledge of tax software and MS Office
- Basic knowledge of U.S. GAAP and GAAS
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Process-oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a demanding, deadline driven environment
- Ability to develop and maintain professional client relationships
