Education Specialist II - Bilingual; Part-Time

Salary rate includes a premium for bilingual skill.

The Bilingual Education Specialist II is responsible for ensuring a quality visitor experience in teaching and facilitating museum workshops to school groups and childcare and assisting with some written and verbal translations of Spanish document for Education department programs.

• Facilitate focused field trip workshops on or off-site and support other Museum early childhood educational programming and activities as needed
• Engage visitors through developmentally appropriate practices to enhance exhibit experiences
• Maintain storage and prep areas
• Perform other duties and participate in special projects, as assigned
• Attend and participate in internal meetings

• Develop, prepare, and facilitate early childhood educational programming
• Develop evaluation tools for programs to assess effectiveness and track program evaluations
• Develop written education materials, lesson plans, program activities, workshop materials and training manuals
• Conduct and facilitate professional development workshops

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or related field
• Type 04, 03 or 10 Certification preferred
• A minimum of 3 years’ demonstrated experience in an early childhood education setting (PreK – grade
  3) or children’s museum setting.
• Experience working with and/or developing STEAM programs
• Proficiency with Spanish speaking and writing skills required
• Proficiency in office technology and software (Microsoft Office suite)
• Exceptional oral, written and presentation communication skills
• Friendly demeanor and ability to work with individuals of all levels of an organization
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload to meet business needs
• Must have a valid driver’s license, own vehicle and good driving record
• Must have flexibility with work schedule, as necessary, to support weekend scheduling and/or evening activities

Pay: $20.30 - $24.00 per hour
