Job Description Sr Scientist, R&D – Product Dev
Role: This technical leadership role provides direction for and execution of projects across the North American Business Continuity and Productivity Team. The candidate identifies, scopes, and drives technical projects focused on productivity, translating business needs into design, testing, data analysis, and commercialization. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently with minimal guidance.
The role requires a proven record of executing work plans, driving results, and applying technical and scientific principles to new situations.
- Responsible for elevation productivity ideation, scoping, and execution across the condiments and sauces portfolio.
- Scope and drive highly technical and complex projects to meet platform and productivity objectives.
- Opportunity to lead junior developers on projects.
- Conduct feasibility assessments, prototype development, costing, supervision of factory trials, development of recipe and factory documentation, and technical approval.
- Apply prior learning or scientific principles to new situations.
- Manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently and complete work with minimal guidance.
- Exhibit a collaborative mindset and apply innovative solutions.
- BS/MS in Food Science or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years in a technical function (including internship work).
- Solid understanding of food chemistry, analytical testing, formulations, and processing used in food manufacturing.
- Sauce and condiment experience preferred.
- Experience in productivity scoping and pipeline building a plus.
- Understanding of ingredient functionality and interrelationship of ingredients, process, and packaging.
- Excellent communication, influencing, project management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate others.
- Strong understanding of Design of Experiments.
- Willingness to travel 30 %.
New Hire Base Salary Range: $88,000.00 – $
