Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
- Oversee staff accountants and interns; provide training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Conduct technical tax research and prepare memoranda documenting findings.
- Assist in tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and support client goals.
- Review work papers for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm standards.
- Identify and resolve tax issues; communicate findings and recommendations to managers and partners.
- Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and high-quality service.
- Ensure compliance with deadlines, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
- Participate in engagement budgeting, scheduling, and workflow management.
- Support business development activities, including participation in proposals and client presentations.
- Keep current with changes in tax laws and regulations.
Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field;
Master’s in Taxation preferred.
CPA certification (or active pursuit).
2–4+ years of public accounting tax experience, preferably with a midsize firm.
Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
Proficiency with tax software (e.g., Pro System fx, Ultra Tax, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
