Responsibilities- Draft, review, and revise legal documents related to estate planning and trust administration, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
- Provide legal counsel to clients on estate and trust matters, including advising on probate, estate administration, trust administration, and estate and gift taxation.
- Represent clients in probate and trust litigation, including the resolution of disputes related to the administration of estates and trusts.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on a wide variety of trust and estates issues.
- Collaborate with tax professionals to plan and execute estate plans that minimize tax liability and ensure compliance with state and federal law.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, working diligently to meet their needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations related to estates and trusts, and advise clients accordingly.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in estate planning and trust administration, including experience with complex estate and trust matters.
- Strong knowledge of Illinois law related to estates and trusts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical, solutions-oriented advice.
- High degree of professionalism and a strong commitment to client service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
