Job Summary
Full‑time, salaried Float Ambulatory Nurse Clinician for the North Region clinics (Glenview, Deerfield, Vernon Hills, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Grayslake). 40 hours per week, 4 x 10‑hour shifts Monday‑Thursday. Paid mileage reimbursement and float differential. Schedule allows flexibility across North Region ambulatory clinics.
Responsibilities- Maintain a safe, clean work environment; ensure compliance with OSHA regulations; supervise appropriate medical equipment care.
- Provide pre‑attending care, perform comprehensive assessments, document in the patient record, uphold confidentiality.
- Execute routine nursing duties: phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs, lab specimen collection, and more.
- Review and act on abnormalities from exams/tests, document interventions.
- Collaborate with other clinical and administrative departments; coordinate patient care and outside facilities.
- Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls, documenting assessments.
- Manage urgent/emergent medical situations, use emergency equipment, and enforce cardiac arrest protocols.
- Serve as a resource for staff and physicians, lead problem solving, delegate tasks per Illinois law and organizational protocols.
- Implement new policies and procedures to improve patient experience.
- Initiate patient education, ensure comprehension and demonstration, provide teaching to staff, and engage in community outreach.
Required:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
- Experience:
5 years nursing or 1‑2 years acute or ambulatory care experience (or 2 years if new graduate); if less than 6 months, approval by NMG Director of Professional Development.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- 1‑2 years ambulatory or acute care experience.
