American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring EKG proficiency and Epic experience.

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit handling boarded patients in the Emergency Department (not ED patients)
• Floating required to other Medical-Surgical units when not needed in the ED
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Every-other weekend rotation required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS certification required (American Heart or American Red Cross accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, 4+ years preferred
• EKG test score of 80% or higher required prior to consideration
• Epic EMR experience required
• New graduates will not be considered

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care to boarded ED patients and support Medical-Surgical units as needed
• On Day 1 of orientation, travelers will take an on-site EKG test and must pass to continue the assignment
• A study book will be provided prior to the on-site EKG test
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must have a 12-month break in service before being eligible as a traveler
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for this 8-week contract
• Facility conducts a brief interview, typically 10-15 minutes
