Job Description Primary Responsibility

Full time faculty positions begin in July 2026 with a 30-credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually.

The successful candidate will teach communications courses, which will include but not be limited to Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Group Communication. This position is vital for providing general education requirements within Associate’s and Bachelor’s programs as well as supporting concurrent enrollment for local high school students.

This position will teach in various modalities including online, virtual classroom, in person, and hybrids.

Teaching Responsibilities
  • Teach course load as assigned
  • Evaluate courses and assess student learning
  • Meet established course, program and learning outcomes
  • Comply with guidelines and policies
  • Maintain office hours per established standards, at least five per week
  • Develop rapport with students, encouraging communication
  • Assist with academic advising of students
  • Participate in orientation and registration activities

Qualifications
  • Credentialed to teach in this program or eligible to be credentialed
  • Master’s Degree in Communication, or a Master’s Degree and a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Communications
  • Minimum of one-year, full-time teaching experience or equivalent (30 credit hours) as an adjunct faculty member; higher education teaching experience preferred
  • Experience in a variety of teaching delivery modes: in person, hybrid, synchronous online, and asynchronous online
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, and collegiality
Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) or Conversational Language Abilities Application

Salary & Benefits

Salary range: $79,902.51 – $97,321.19 annual salary depending on a combination of education and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, pet insurance, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, annual & sick time, mental health resources, healthy lifestyle benefits, affordable transitional housing may be available based on eligibility and availability, relocation if applicable. Salary will be set commensurate with qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Minimum Qualifications Essential Duties

The following responsibilities and activities are listed in order to maintain consistency in the application of expectations and align job duties with evaluation and promotion procedures.

A.1 Teaching Responsibilities

A.3 Service Activities
  • Serve on campus and college‑wide committees
