Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Infusion Clinic / Ambulatory Care setting provides specialized care to patients receiving intravenous (IV) therapies and other outpatient treatments. This role focuses on safe medication administration, patient monitoring, and education in a controlled, non‑emergency environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer IV infusions, injections, and specialty medications (e.g., chemotherapy, biologics, antibiotics)
  • Start and manage IV lines, including central lines and PICC lines
  • Monitor patients during and after infusion for adverse reactions
  • Assess patient health status and document clinical data
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, side effects, and home care
  • Coordinate with physicians, pharmacists, and healthcare teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and medication protocols
  • Manage patient scheduling and flow within the clinic
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • 2–4 years of nursing experience, preferably in infusion therapy or ambulatory care
Key Skills
  • IV therapy and infusion administration
  • Patient monitoring and assessment
  • Knowledge of medications and potential side effects
  • Strong communication and patient education
  • Attention to detail and safety compliance
  • Ability to manage multiple patients in an outpatient setting
Work Environment

Infusion clinic / ambulatory care center – Day shifts, minimal emergency exposure. Patient-focused and controlled clinical environment.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with chemotherapy or specialty infusions
  • Certification in Infusion Nursing (CRNI)
  • Familiarity with EMR systems
