Overview

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional RN care in an ambulatory GI/interventional care setting, including pre-procedure assessment and post-procedure monitoring.
  • Administer medications, establish IV access, and manage patient safety and comfort during GI procedures.
  • Educate patients on GI conditions, treatment plans, medications, post-procedure care, and lifestyle considerations.
  • Support patients with pancreatobiliary and complex digestive health needs, including swallowing issues, stents, liver-related concerns, reflux, and related conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the care team to coordinate patient care, document accurately in the electronic medical record, and ensure timely follow-up and continuity of care.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and clinic policies; recognize and eliminate changes in patient status.
  • Provide appropriate discharge instructions and coordinate referrals or additional ambulatory services as needed.
  • Maintain a patient-centered approach with attention to culturally and linguistically appropriate care; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Requirements
  • Licensure:
    Active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Education:

    Graduate of an accredited RN program or state board-approved RN program
  • Experience:

    Minimum 2 years of GI RN experience; prior RN clinic/ambulatory care experience
  • Certifications:

    BLS certification through the American Heart Association (card in-hand before start date)
  • Skills:

    Ability to work in an ambulatory/clinic-like GI environment; strong assessment, documentation, and patient education skills
  • Language:
    English required; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
