American Traveler seeks a Radiation Oncology RN with active Colorado RN license and 2+ years of Radiation Oncology nursing experience for a hospital-based clinic setting.
Details- Hospital-based Radiation Oncology department
- Oncology patient population undergoing radiation treatment
- Schedule consists of 4-10 hour shifts on weekdays
- No weekend or on-call requirements specified
- Active Colorado RN license in good standing (or license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification through American Heart Association
- Minimum of 2 years RN Radiation Oncology experience required (Medical Oncology experience does not qualify)
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to coordinate oncology patient care with interdisciplinary staff
- Knowledge of chronic illness and comorbidity management
- Current knowledge of hematology/oncology and internal medicine trends, procedures, and protocols
- Understanding of evidence-based oncology, immunology, pharmacology, and cultural sensitivity practices
- Function in a collaborative role with the Radiation Oncology Team to provide continuity and quality patient care
- Assess and provide nursing interventions for issues related to disease process, treatment course, and follow-up
- Provide teaching, counseling, and supportive care to help patients and families cope with cancer diagnosis and treatment
- Assist Radiation Oncologist in patient evaluation and examination
- Serve as liaison between Radiation Oncology and other hospital departments, physician groups, and support services
- Provide referrals for alternative resources including rehabilitation, nursing home care, hospice, and nutritional services
- Care for patients across varying age groups, developmental stages, and cultural backgrounds
- Candidate's permanent address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
