Schedule:

• Thursday to Saturday | 5:45 PM - 6:00 AM
• Every other Wednesday | 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM
• Approximately 37 hours per week
• Overtime available based on operational needs

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Armed Security Officer to support security operations at a secure detention facility in Glenwood Springs. This position works alongside correctional personnel to help maintain order, protect staff and inmates, and promote a safe and controlled environment.
The selected officer will perform security duties inside the facility, assist with inmate movement when required, complete detailed documentation, and support deputies during daily operations. This position requires excellent judgment, professionalism, and the ability to remain composed in challenging situations.

• Maintain a visible armed security presence throughout assigned areas.
• Conduct routine security rounds inside designated sections of the facility.
• Monitor housing units, common areas, entrances, and restricted locations.
• Observe for safety concerns, policy violations, or suspicious behavior.
• Help maintain a secure environment for staff, inmates, and authorized visitors.

• Work closely with deputies and correctional officers during daily operations.
• Assist with inmate movement inside the facility following established procedures.
• Support inmate transport assignments when operationally required.
• Help enforce facility rules, security procedures, and operational protocols.
• Respond appropriately to disturbances or emergency situations while following established procedures.

• Complete thorough daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Record observations accurately and objectively.
• Immediately report safety concerns or operational issues to supervisors.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding facility operations and security information.

• Demonstrate sound judgment while working in a secure environment.
• Communicate professionally with correctional staff, supervisors, and authorized personnel.
• Follow all client post orders, company policies, and applicable laws.
• Maintain a professional appearance and firearm readiness while on duty.

• Personal firearm meeting all applicable legal and company requirements.
• Ability to satisfy Colorado armed security licensing requirements before assignment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Professional demeanor and dependable attendance.
• Ability to successfully complete all required background screening.

• Previous armed security, corrections, law enforcement, military, or detention facility experience.
• Experience working in secure government or critical infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of report writing and incident documentation.
• Strong conflict management and verbal de-escalation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary security team.

• Secure detention facility with controlled-access areas.
• Frequent interaction with deputies, correctional personnel, and authorized staff.
• Standing, walking, and conducting security rounds throughout the shift.
