Location: Glenwood Springs, CO 81601
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: $26.50 per hour
Schedule: 7:30 PM - 3:30 AM
Availability: Coverage currently available seven days per week

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is looking for a reliable Unarmed Security Officer to provide evening security support in Glenwood Springs. This role involves working around public transportation activity, maintaining a visible presence, assisting passengers, and helping address safety or security concerns as they arise.

The right candidate will be comfortable working around the public, staying alert throughout an evening shift, and handling routine interactions as well as unexpected situations with patience and professionalism.

What You Will Be Responsible For Transit Security & Patrol
  • Maintain an active security presence on assigned transit vehicles and designated passenger areas.
  • Conduct routine walking patrols around loading and boarding locations.
  • Monitor activity around buses, passenger areas, and nearby property.
  • Watch for behavior, conditions, or activity that may create a safety concern.
  • Help keep passenger areas orderly during periods of increased activity.
  • Follow assigned instructions, post orders, and established operating procedures.
Passenger & Employee Assistance
  • Assist passengers with basic directions or general questions when appropriate.
  • Interact with passengers and transit personnel in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Help employees report conditions that may affect their safety or normal operations.
  • Provide a calm presence when passengers or employees encounter difficult situations.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries during all public interactions.
Safety & Incident Handling
  • Monitor for disturbances, suspicious activity, hazards, or other unusual conditions.
  • Evaluate situations and communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Contact emergency services when circumstances require outside assistance.
  • Use respectful verbal communication to help reduce tension when appropriate.
  • Follow established procedures when responding to emergencies or security concerns.
  • Remain composed and attentive when conditions change unexpectedly.
Reports & Shift Communication
  • Complete required activity logs and security reports.
  • Record incidents, unusual observations, safety issues, and policy concerns accurately.
  • Provide supervisors with timely updates regarding significant events.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling security-related information.
  • Complete required documentation before the end of each assigned shift.
  • Follow company reporting procedures and location-specific requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening and pre-employment requirements.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance, conduct, and attitude.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently during evening and overnight hours.
  • Good judgment when dealing with members of the public.
  • Ability to remain attentive throughout an extended shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and conduct routine patrols for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, passengers, employees, and emergency personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in security or a related public-facing position.
  • Customer service, hospitality, transportation, or public safety experience.
  • Experience working around high volumes of public interaction.
  • Familiarity with incident reporting or daily activity documentation.
  • Strong observation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience handling disagreements through calm, professional communication.
