Job DescriptionFoster-Glocester Regional School District is currently accepting applications for a highly effective teacher who wants to teach in a 1:1 technology‑rich environment to advance learning and teaching in our high‑performing high school.
In 2020 Ponaganset High School was selected for a $500,000 XQ Super School Implementation Grant to rethink and redesign our high school over the next two years. The school is staffed by a dedicated team committed to advancing learning and teaching in a collaborative, relevant, and personalized 1:1 blended learning environment. Located on more than 140 acres of a living campus, Ponaganset High School serves approximately 830 students in grades 9‑12.
All students and teachers are issued a Windows 10 laptop, making the school a 1:1 blended learning environment. We have ten REID approved pathways:
Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Plant and Animal Biosciences, Computer Science and Information Technology, Music and Performing Arts, Materials and Manufacturing, Visual Arts, Health Careers and EMT, Criminal Justice, and Law and Public Policy.
The school has built in common planning time for teachers, student personalization groups, and supports for students who are struggling and students who excel. We are actively rewriting curricula in the academic core and in our student choice courses. A learning management system (LMS) and grade book accessible by parents support virtual collaboration and analytics.
Ponaganset High School is a member of the League of Innovative Schools and was awarded full accreditation by NEASC in 2010. The recently renovated high school includes new facilities and athletic amenities.
