Foster-Glocester Regional School District is accepting applications for a highly effective Math Teacher who wants to work as a collaborative member of a team to lead and support our high-performing middle school. Our learning community of educators, students, and parents is one of the best kept secrets in RI. Located in scenic Northwest Rhode Island, Ponaganset Middle School serves approximately 420 students.
The school staff is dedicated to advancing learning and teaching in a collaborative, relevant, and personalized 1:1 blended learning environment. Ponaganset Middle School is a member of the Association for Middle Level Education, the New England League of Middle Schools, and fully embraces middle-level practices.
The current school building opened in September 2007. The middle school has six team suites to support and enhance our middle school teams. Our strong academic, music, unified arts, and athletic programs are supported by more than 50 acres of a living campus that encourages learning inside and out of school.
In order to enhance learning, our district uses a Learning Management System that provides a virtual space for student and teacher collaboration, allowing lessons to be shared, assignments to be posted, and student performance analytics to be accessed by teachers and families.
Through sound fiscal management, our district has reallocated resources to meet student and adult needs, adding numerous courses to prepare students for college and careers. All students in grades 6-12 are issued a device for a 1:1 blended learning environment. Teachers and students actively use technology to support student mastery of knowledge and skills.
