Sr Financial Analyst - Budget Department

Sr Financial Analyst sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and strategy within Temple Health, a large academic medical center. The position is responsible for developing and monitoring departmental budgets while performing high-impact financial and operational analyses that directly inform senior leadership decision-making.

This is a hybrid position requiring on-site attendance at least two days per week. Candidates must live within commuting distance of Philadelphia, PA.

The individual will lead both qualitative and quantitative analyses across complex hospital operations. This includes defining analytical questions, designing workplans, executing analyses, and translating results into clear business implications. Work regularly involves partnering with clinical, operational, and executive leaders to validate data, assess performance, and support operational and strategic initiatives with financial impact.

This is a highly visible role with routine exposure to senior leadership and an opportunity to work on nuanced, real-world healthcare finance questions, including operational performance, resource utilization, service line economics, and strategic planning.

• Develop, manage, and monitor assigned departmental budgets and financial operations
• Perform advanced financial and operational analyses to support both near-term operational decisions and longer-term strategic planning
• Define and structure complex analytical questions; design workplans, execute analyses, and translate results into clear, actionable business recommendations
• Partner closely with hospital management and senior leaders to validate assumptions, interpret results, and support informed decision-making
• Access, integrate, and analyze data from multiple clinical, financial, and operational systems
• Communicate findings effectively to non-financial stakeholders, including executive leadership

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative/analytical discipline (Required)
• CPA, Master’s Degree, or MBA (Preferred)

• 2 years of experience in Public Accounting or 3 years of experience in Financial Accounting or Financial Operations (Required)
• Demonstrated experience accessing data from multiple systems and translating analysis into business insights (Required)
