Position: Administrative Assistant I Unit Coordinator

Seacoast Nursing & Rehab Center

Located on the campus of Addison‑Gilbert Hospital, we are seeking a Nursing Unit Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support on our busy short‑term rehabilitation unit. This full‑time position operates Monday‑Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and supports our team of caregivers and patients.

Requirements for the Nursing Unit Administrative Assistant
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent. Active CNA certification/Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practices is preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to react calmly to difficult circumstances.

Job Duties for the Nursing Unit Administrative Assistant
  • Record medical and administrative information in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures.
  • Answer telephone, page calls, deliver messages to residents, staff, etc. as necessary.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date roster of patients/residents for assigned unit.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized physical environment in the nurses' station and patient care unit.
  • Transcribe physician orders to the electronic medical record and enter for licensed nurses to review and reconcile.
  • Participate in the New Admission Welcoming Process by processing the patient's admission and registration into the facility's EMR.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Nursing Unit Manager, Director of Nursing, or facility Administrator.
