Overview

Middlesex Recovery is seeking an experienced, mission driven

Medical

Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight for our Office Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT) and behavioral health services. The Medical Directoris  responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality, patient centered care while supporting regulatory compliance, provider development, clinical quality initiatives, and operational excellence across multiple outpatient treatment locations.

This physician leader serves as the clinical authority formedicalservices and collaborates closely with operational, nursing, counseling, and administrative leaders to advance patient outcomes, enhance access to care, and promote evidence-based treatment practices.

Essential Responsibilities Clinical Leadership
  • Provide medical oversight for all addiction treatment and behavioral health services delivered within Middlesex Recovery.
  • Ensure the provision of evidence-based treatment for substance use disorders, including Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder and Alcohol Use Disorder.
  • Serve as a clinical resource, consultant, and collaborator to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, counselors, and program leadership.
  • Review complex patient cases and provide guidance regarding treatment planning, medication management, and clinical best practices.
Quality and Compliance
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state BSAS, payer, DEA, CARF, and organizational requirements.
  • Lead clinical quality improvement initiatives and support performance measures related to patient care, access, retention, outcomes, and provider productivity.
  • Ensure medical documentation meets regulatory and reimbursement standards.
  • Participate in audits, accreditation surveys, and corrective action planning as needed.
Provider Oversight and Development
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and clinical guidance to medical providers.
  • Support provider onboarding, competency development, and continuingmedicaleducation activities.
  • Facilitate clinical trainings and educational programs related to addiction medicine, behavioral health, emerging treatment approaches, and regulatory requirements.
Operational Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Nursing, and Clinical Leadership to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and interdisciplinary case reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve communication, workflows, patient experience, and clinical outcomes.
  • Support implementation of new services, clinical initiatives, and strategic growth opportunities.
Regulatory and Risk Management
  • Maintain awareness of changing regulations and clinical standards affecting addiction treatment and behavioral health services.
  • Assist with risk management activities and clinical incident reviews.
  • Promote safe prescribing practices and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
Community and Organizational Leadership
  • Represent Middlesex Recovery in professional, community, and industry settings.
  • Foster a culture of compassion, accountability, inclusion, and clinical excellence.
  • Serve as a champion for the organization's mission of restoring lives through evidence-based treatment and recovery support.
Required Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Current unrestricted medical license in MA & NH.
  • DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Board Certification in Addiction Medicine required. Additional preferred certifications:
