West Parish Elementary is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team and provide crucial support to students with behavioral challenges. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with teachers and other staff and work with students who need additional support. This role requires patience, understanding, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping students develop the social, emotional, and academic skills necessary for success.

- Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom and educational support services to students under the supervision of a classroom teacher.
- Help create and maintain a structured and predictable classroom environment.
- Assist students with self-regulation strategies and coping mechanisms.
- Qualifications:
- High school diploma, equivalent, or successful completion of Para Pro test required.
- Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Experience and/or education working with children with special needs, preferred.
- Ability to work cooperatively with classroom teacher(s), school adjustment counselors, and administrators.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, flexibility, and a genuine desire to support students with unique needs.
- Track record of professionalism and effective collaboration in the workplace.
- Status: 32.5 Hours Weekly
- Salary:
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with the Gloucester Public Schools ESP salary schedule range of $29,355.00 - $38,268.00. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and retirement options. - Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
