West Parish Elementary is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to provide crucial support to students with behavioral challenges. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with teachers and staff and help students develop the social, emotional, and academic skills necessary for success.

• Provide classroom and educational support services to students under the supervision of a classroom teacher.
• Help create and maintain a structured and predictable classroom environment.
• Assist students with self‑regulation strategies and coping mechanisms.

• High school diploma, equivalent, or successful completion of the Para Pro test required.
• Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Experience and/or education working with children with special needs preferred.
• Ability to work cooperatively with classroom teacher(s), school adjustment counselors, and administrators.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, flexibility, and a genuine desire to support students with unique needs.
• Track record of professionalism and effective collaboration in the workplace.

Hours:

32.5 hours weekly
Salary: $29,355.00 – $38,268.00 (ESP schedule), commensurate with experience and qualifications. Comprehensive benefits include health, dental, vision, and retirement options.
