Paraprofessional / IA
West Parish Elementary is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to provide support to students with special needs. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with teachers and staff to create a structured classroom environment, help students develop self‑regulation strategies, and contribute to social, emotional, and academic success.
Responsibilities- Provide classroom and educational support services to students under the supervision of a classroom teacher.
- Help create and maintain a structured and predictable classroom environment.
- Assist students with self‑regulation strategies and coping mechanisms.
- High school diploma, equivalent, or successful completion of Para Pro test required.
- Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Experience and/or education working with children with special needs preferred.
- Ability to work cooperatively with classroom teachers, school adjustment counselors, and administrators.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, flexibility, and a genuine desire to support students with unique needs.
- Track record of professionalism and effective collaboration in the workplace.
- Hours: 32.5 Hours Weekly
- Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with the Gloucester Public Schools ESP salary schedule range of $29,355.00 - $38,268.00.
