Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex electro‑mechanical technical functions: design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models, specialized test equipment, tools and test fixtures.
  • Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub‑systems with minimal supervision.
  • Execute new system and NPI installations and field upgrades, often requiring solution of difficult problems by applying technical knowledge.
  • Investigate, compile data, document and recommend changes using applicable reporting processes to enhance product performance.
  • Compile logbooks and test procedure documentation; assist in revising, developing and implementing documented procedures; write complex technical reports and test procedures.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum and process testing on AMAT platforms and document results against engineering and manufacturing specifications.
  • Observe all safety standards, maintain a secure, safe, clean and healthy work environment, attend required health and safety training and follow safety and security policies, procedures and practices.
  • Provide management with technical input to correct problems at the system level and in the manufacturing process; serve as a “Quality Lead” when required.
  • Provide training to lower‑level Engineering Technicians and act as a technical resource for a particular platform or product.
Physical and Environmental Requirements

This is a physically demanding position that often requires standing for extended periods, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, distinguishing colors, tolerating noise, using hand and power tools, and operating heavy machinery including forklifts. Because this position may involve working in a clean room, appropriate personal protective equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons and face shields may be required.
