Role OverviewAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for developing and maintaining methods, operating sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies. You’ll work closely with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and new products, and you’ll use engineering principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, determine time standards and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain operation sequences and processes for building sub‑assemblies and final assemblies.
- Design build/lift fixtures and make engineering design changes to improve production processes.
- Create and optimize build‑cell or manufacturing layouts to streamline production.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to release product improvements and new products.
- Write, release, approve, implement and issue engineering change orders (ECOs) for new and existing products.
- Determine root cause and implement corrective actions for issues arising during assembly and/or test of systems and subsystems.
- Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements.
- Implement changes to improve safety, quality and reliability.
- Apply lean principles to eliminate waste in the production system.
- Work with test engineering on design and development of test fixtures and test processes, and become proficient with testing to troubleshoot failures.
- Gather operational and test data to support problem‑solving activities and evaluate results to implement data‑driven solutions.
- Support supplier quality efforts by interfacing with suppliers, attending supplier audits or supporting supplier visits.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 4 to 7 years of experience.
- Demonstrated conceptual knowledge and technical experience for everyday problem‑solving on the job.
- Solid interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly explain difficult or sensitive information and to build consensus.
- Proficiency in software such as AgileE6, SAP, PTC Creo, Ansys, Smartsheet, Tableau or similar programs is a plus.
