Adelphi is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to students within a school setting in Gloucester, Virginia.

Requirements
  • Current Virginia licensure or other applicable credential required to provide physical therapy services.
  • Appropriate education, training, and professional experience necessary to perform school-based physical therapy services.
  • Experience providing physical therapy services to students with disabilities in a school or educational setting preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct physical therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs and assigned service requirements.
  • Conduct physical therapy and functional evaluations.
  • Prepare written evaluation reports, recommendations, and appropriate physical therapy interventions.
  • Participate in eligibility, IEP, manifestation determination, and multidisciplinary team meetings as requested.
  • Monitor student progress and complete required service and progress documentation.
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, special education personnel, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide recommendations regarding accommodations, assistive technology, adaptive supports, and specialized instructional supports within the scope of physical therapy services.
  • Provide consultative services to instructional staff and families regarding students’ physical and functional needs.
  • Assist with Medicaid documentation and billing requirements where applicable.
  • Coordinate scheduling and service delivery with administrators and designated case managers.
  • Maintain accurate reports, service records, progress documentation, and other records required by the school.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA, IDEA, HIPAA where applicable, and other governing requirements.
  • Maintain required professional licensure, certifications, and professional standards throughout the assignment.
