The role of a Team Leader at EMR Group is broad in its requirements and provides a challenging but rewarding working environment, supporting the daily operations in the Ferrous yard.
What You Will Be Doing- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Ferrous Yard, assisting the Ferrous Operations Manager.
- Responsible for health, safety and environmental welfare of staff, customers and the site.
- Assist with material out turns and report back to Operations Manager and Ferrous Area Manager.
- Manage stock levels and inform the Operations Manager of material sales needs.
- Oversee quality control of all incoming loads, including inter‑depot and customer loads.
- Coordinate monthly stocktakes under the guidance of Operations Manager and Area Manager.
- Report to the Operations Manager on depot inefficiencies, monitoring production and overall customer experience.
- Operate mobile plant such as counterbalance forklift or crane to carry out loading and sorting duties within the yard.
- Coordinate container bookings with the Ferrous Operations Manager.
- Develop a detailed understanding of all metal grades to UK specification and understand the nuances of all matters of upgrading.
- Ensure material is graded and stored appropriately.
- Self‑develop through training and plant qualifications.
- Understand stock levels and costs of stock control.
- Undertake a continuous improvement approach to ensure optimum efficiency and performance.
