Overview

Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Job : SRS-MA

Location: Gloucester MA area

Pay: $76k annually + benefits

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am-4:30pm

Qualifications / Responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills – English & Spanish required
  • Supervise other shipping/receiving employees, material handlers and warehouse employees to assure GMPs, SSOPs, safety
  • Ensure that only relevant staff enters the coolers and freezers for material needed so that product is not altered in any way.
  • Responsible for receiving in all raw materials and packaging for the company.
  • Responsible for filling out the receiving assessment sheets upon delivery. (Pre-requisite program for HACCP).
  • Responsible for reporting any over and shorts upon delivery.
  • Responsible for checking all truck drivers IDs when entering the building.
  • Responsible for filling out the “Stock Rotation Log” after each delivery. Assures FIFO (first in first out) of product/ingredients/packaging.
  • Assists as needed with printing of bar code labels for receivables.
  • Works with the Procurement Manager on inventory and new inventory control systems.
  • Trains the Receiving Clerk on all areas of the job.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds at a minimum and be on their feet most of the day.
  • Keeping the warehouse organized and clean at all times.
  • Keeping the coolers and freezers organized, clean and rotated at all times. (FIFO)
  • Checking product as it is received and flagging Q.A. of any issues. Keeps equipment not in use in the warehouse under QA HOLD.
  • Responsible for Shipping all finished product and filling out all required information on the Bill of Ladings, Load Inspection Forms, and Lot Code Tracking forms.
  • Coordinate with trucking companies pick up times for customers finished product.
  • Keeping Allergens segregated and labeled in the coolers, freezers and dry storage.
  • Making sure that all products received in get a lot number (date code) stamped on the outside cases.
  • Assures that all allergens are marked either on the bar code label, or on a large yellow label.
  • Report any Food Safety/Safety/Food Defense Issues to Management.
Job Uniform Requirements
  • A fluorescent coat will be provided for use in freezers/refrigerators.
  • Steel toe boots will be provided by the company and must be worn while working. (Shoes provided by the company are not allowed to leave the premises and must be stored in your locker when not working).
  • Recommended to wear jeans/heavy pants. Also recommended to wear t-shirt w/sweatshirt as many areas for this job require going from refrigerated/freezer areas to ambient work areas.
