The Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization serving the Greater Cape Ann region, including Gloucester, Rockport, Ipswich, Essex, and Manchester-by-the-Sea. The Chamber supports local businesses through advocacy, promotion, connection, and community engagement.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking an innovative, collaborative, self-directed, and organized individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, managing details, and contributing to a community-focused organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for member inquiries and help ensure a positive member experience
  • Provide outreach, communication, and support to prospective and current members
  • Coordinate onboarding for all new Chamber members
  • Manage the Chamber’s member database and accounts, ensuring accuracy of records, billing status, and engagement tracking
  • Lead and support the Ambassador Committee
  • Schedule and lead monthly networking events
  • Coordinate ribbon-cutting ceremonies for businesses
  • Support member recruitment and retention efforts
  • Assist with member communications, including emails, announcements, and event promotions
  • Support Chamber events and initiatives, including occasional events outside normal business hours
  • Support volunteer committees as needed, including meeting coordination and follow-up
  • Collaborate with the Chamber team on daily operations and special projects
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build positive relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Comfortable learning and working with new technology platforms and systems
  • Knowledge of local businesses and the Greater Cape Ann community is preferred
  • Experience in member services, customer service, or nonprofit organizations is a plus
