Do you enjoy bringing people together, creating meaningful volunteer experiences, and supporting events that strengthen your community? The Open Door is seeking an Engagement Coordinator to help connect volunteers, donors, and community members with our mission. In this role, you’ll be at the center of volunteer and community engagement activities. You’ll welcome and support volunteers, coordinate schedules, assist with events and food drives, and help ensure every volunteer interaction is organized, positive, and impactful.
The Open Door is a leading food equity organization based in Gloucester on Boston’s North Shore. The organization provides critical food resources to more than 12,000 people annually. What You’ll DoPlay a key role in creating an outstanding volunteer experience and supporting community engagement initiatives:
- Welcome, coordinate, and support volunteers throughout their experience
- Assist with food drives, community events, and outreach activities
- Track volunteer participation and maintain accurate records
- Help ensure engagement programs run smoothly by providing administrative and team support
- Commitment to The Open Door’s mission and values
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and collaborate with a team.
- Experience with volunteers, events, or community engagement preferred.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and a valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and assist with event setup and breakdown
- Valid driver’s license
- Starting range $20-$21.50 per hour
- 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Flexibility for nights & weekends required
- Prorated benefits including PTO, earned sick time, matching retirement
