The Open Door is seeking a Warehouse Associate to help power the daily operations that keep food moving to our clients, partners, and programs. In this role, you’ll help ensure our warehouse runs smoothly—from receiving and organizing donations to preparing food orders and supporting volunteers.

Every task you take on directly supports food access across our community.

The Open Door is a leading food equity organization based in Gloucester on Boston’s North Shore with a mission is to alleviate the impact of hunger in our community. The organization provides critical food resources to 11,893 people annually. This is an opportunity to use your skills to make a difference.

What You’ll Do

Play a hands‑on role in keeping our warehouse running smoothly and food moving to the community:

  • Warehouse Operations:
    Receive, organize, and store donations while maintaining a clean, efficient workspace
  • Order Fulfillment:
    Pick, pack, and load food orders for pantry programs, deliveries, and partners
  • Inventory & Organization:
    Keep coolers, freezers, and storage areas well stocked and organized
  • Fulfillment Support:
    Assist with online orders, pickups, and volunteer coordination
  • Program Support:
    Help with food drives, events, and other program needs throughout the year

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to stay organized and work independently in a fast‑paced environment
  • Physical capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull heavier loads
  • Comfort working on your feet and moving throughout the day
  • Flexibility and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Starting range $18-$19.50 per hour
  • 30 hours per week/ Monday–Wednesday & Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.;
    Thursday 10:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • Prorated benefits including PTO, earned sick time, matching retirement
